Play a Part!

Join an exciting group of dedicated volunteers who get into the act each season by working backstage, assisting with fundraisers, supporting kids in performances and much more as they help Charleston Stage bring the magic of live theatre to the stage each season.

Administrative and Fundraiser Volunteers
Volunteers are needed to help answer phones, prepare mass mailings, send invititations, and work events including the annual Fundraising Gala and Auction and various other administrative duties. Annual Fundraising Gala Volunteers
Join in the fun of a dazzling display of culinary skills, elegant fashions and fierce bidding wars that result in one of the most successful and talked about fundraisers in the city! To help with setup, entice patrons to bid on silent auction items, be a live auction runner, assist with checkout, or be involved in a variety of other ways, contact Helen DeBuse, Donor Relations and Special Events Manager, at (843) 577-5967 or hdebuse@charlestonstage.com.

Parent Volunteers
Parent volunteers provide support to Charleston Stage’s classes, education programs and productions that feature young actors. For parent volunteering, please contact Marybeth Clark, Associate Artistic Director, at (843) 577-5967 or mclark@charlestonstage.com.

Backstage Volunteers
Want to work on scenery, costumes, or backstage? Volunteer and become a part of the Charleston Stage production team. Volunteer Night at the Charleston Stage Scene Shop is held Tuesday evenings from 7:00pm - 9:00pm at 19 Warren Street. Email Stefanie to be added to the shop volunteer mailing list for the latest schedule updates.

Volunteer Usher Corps
Volunteers help front of house during performances by taking tickets, passing out programs, and assisting patrons to their seats. There is a $5 Membership Fee. All ushers receive 2 for 1 tickets per production and other great benefits! Board Committees
Our Board of Trustees wants input from you! Consider joining one of our Board Committees and become involved in the inner-workings of Charleson Stage. To join any of these committees, contact Helen DeBuse at (843) 577-5967 or hdebuse@charlestonstage.com.

Show Sponsorship - This committee solicits personal and corporate sponsors for MainStage and Family Series Productions and greets them at Director's Circle Opening Night events.
Business Members - This committee solicits small- to mid-size businesses to become Business Members who receive ticket vouchers for employees and clients as well as program advertising.
Director's Circle - This committee, currently the Theatre Society of 1736 Committee, plans the Director's Circle Opening Night events. The committee works to renew past members and recruit new members and plan fabulous pre- and post-show receptions.
Auction and Gala - The event, to be held September 30, 2010, is the company's largest fundraiser, including a seated dinner for 400 catered by area restaurants, as well as a live and silent auction. The committee works to solicit auction items, sell tickets and tables, and find volunteers for the event.
