FOR ADVANCED STUDENTS (GRADES 4-12)
(ADMISSION BY AUDITION ONLY)
Performance Troupes are for advanced students who want school year long training and performance opportunities. Charleston Stage TheatreSchool offers three performance troupes.
Theatricals (grades 4-5)
KidStage (grades 6-8)
KidStage and Theatricals Performances Troupes meet weekly for 2 hour workshops (Mondays 4-6pm) and have performance opportunities during the year with Charleston Stage’s MainStage and Family Series productions. Addition to Performance Troupes requires a major commitment in time and effort and strict attendance at all workshops is expected. Admission to Performance Troupes is by audition only.

Students auditioning should prepare 2 contrasting one minute memorized monologues. KidStage and Theatrical students will have the opportunity to perform in one of the following shows
Frankenstein, A Christmas Carol, The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, To Kill A Mocking Bird, Charlotte's Web
Broadway Express (grades 9-12)
Broadway Express is a musical theatre troupe created to give high school students the training necessary to perform in main stage productions. Last years members appeared in Gershwin at Folly, Beauty & the Beast and Fiddler on the Roof. This small group trains throughout the year with the Resident Acting Company as well as directors and choreographers. Addition to Broadway Express requires a major commitment in time and effort and strict attendance at all workshops.
